Will freezing damage the tank?

Freezing will not damage the tank itself, although it will cause all of the pressure to be lost. You'll have to wait for it to thaw out before you can add pressure back in and use it again.

That said, If you are expecting a freeze you should stow your hose and spray nozzle inside your vehicle or tent where it's warmer.
